A Day in Our Life

5:45...My phone alarm went off, but I didn't get up until 6:05 when Ryan's alarm went off!  I got up and put Sienna's birthday pictures on my blog.

6:30...I woke Kessiah and Jenessa up (Jenessa didn't get up right away...I guess she was having a tired morning as well!)  I exercised with a DVD for about 20 minutes.  During this time Logan woke up and came downstairs.

7:00...I showered and got ready for the day, Breakfast time for everyone except Corbin...who was also having a slow morning and was still in bed.

7:30...Devotional Time.  For the rest of this month I am sharing a talk from General Conference each morning.  Today we talked about the sacrament.  Sienna and Jenessa each played a Christmas song that we sang along with.

8:00...Kessiah had her leadership class, Sienna and Logan started their math.  Corbin woke up and he joined Mason at the table doing some worksheets.  I'm not sure where Jenessa was...probably feeding the dogs.

8:30...Jenessa had her leadership class.  Kessiah went outside to feed the horses and chickens.  Sienna was still working on her math and Logan started his Language Arts.

9:00...Kessiah had her STEM class.  Sienna was doing her benchmark test for Language Arts.  Logan finished up his work and the boys had a snack, then I sent them up to clean their room.  I emptied the dishwasher.

9:30...The boys were still working on their room, Sienna was reading.  Kessiah was still in her STEM class and I found Jenessa doing her math.  I went into the office with my ipad and checked my email while occasionally helping Jenessa.

10:00...Kessiah practiced her piano and then did a science experiment. (She dipped some paper in an alcohol/water mixture, then we lit a match to it and watch a flame appear without burning the paper!)

Jenessa made a to do list for the rest of today.  The boys were still "cleaning" their room and Sienna practiced her piano.  I got on the computer to check any deals on Amazon and Hip2Save (Christmas is right around the corner and the computer helps me find some good deals!)

10:30...Jenessa had her Humanities class.  There was more snacking from the boys...and they were still working on their room.  I looked at some things on the computer for some activities/worksheets for December.  I think I found some things on teacherspayteachers about Christmas around the World.

11:00...I pulled out our Thanksgiving menu from last year and made a few changes.  I ordered a turkey roaster from Walmart.com.  The boys were STILL cleaning up their room.  Sienna practiced her piano.

11:30...I got leftovers out of the fridge and ate lunch.  The rest of the crew came in to get some food.  Ryan came home and ate lunch.  I cleaned up the breakfast and lunch dishes.  The 4 youngest played outside.

1:00...Time for Co-op.  I get 5 boys at my house for a couple of hours and Sienna went to our friend's home to learn more about the Westward movement.  Kessiah and Jenessa worked on school assignments.  I got on the computer to check email and start this blog post.

2:00...I got on oilsuniversity.com to learn some more about the doTerra oils that I ordered over the weekend.  Checked on the boys a few times, they were having a great time.  Kessiah and Jenessa still working on school assignments.

3:00..Co-op was over...Sienna came back home and my extra little boys go back home.  Jenessa is working on a family history project for Activity Days and I called my mom to ask her a question about an ancestor.  Kessiah, Jenessa, and I talked more about the ancestors Jenessa was learning about.  Sienna peeled some carrots for dinner.  I started the beef stew.

4:00...Mommy Reading Time...More Adventures of the Great Brain.  I finished up the beef stew and made some quick artisan bread to go with it.  Kessiah, Jenessa, and I talked about their 4H sewing projects...the first meeting of the year is coming up on Friday and I wanted them to have an idea of what they wanted to do.  Jenessa went outside to feed the horses.

6:00...Dinner time

6:50...Ryan pulled in just in time for me to take the girls to the church for their activities without needing to take the boys along with us.  I came home and put dishes in the dishwasher, we said family prayer with the boys,  I took the boys upstairs to get them ready for bed (that means brush teeth, read stories, tuck them in, listen to their prayers).

8:15...Ryan went to get the girls while I worked on this blog post.  They came home, we talked, they went to bed, and I finished this post.

A Day in Our Life

5:55 a.m.  My alarm went off...I didn't sleep very well so I knew that I wouldn't be getting up to exercise.  I spent the next 20 minutes on Facebook.

6:20 a.m.  Woke Kessiah up, I started printing Jenessa's Discover the Scriptures Old Testament study guide.

6:40 a.m.  Woke Jenessa up, I continued printing

7:00 a.m.  Kessiah logged on to her Williamsburg Intermediate Leadership..(it was the first day of classes for Kessiah and Jenessa).  I woke up Sienna and then took a shower and got ready for the day.

 7:30 a.m.  Jenessa logged on to her Leadership class

7:40 a.m.  Breakfast time...cold cereal...then I spend some time cleaning up the kitchen.

8:00 a.m.  Kessiah logged onto her STEM class, Sienna practiced the piano and then started on her math, Jenessa worked on her math, the boys cleaned their room

8:30 a.m.  Sienna and Logan worked on math, Kessiah was feeling frustrated with her class (technical difficulties), Jenessa continued with math, I sent Mason upstairs to finish his part of the bedroom

9:00 a.m.  Devotional...we are working our way through the Preach my Gospel book.  We discuss one idea or though each morning.  We sang our song and said a prayer.  Kessiah did her piano, Sienna finished her math, Logan started his language lessons and I got out some worksheets for Mason and Corbin.  I'm not sure what Jenessa was doing!

9:30 a.m.  Jenessa logged on to her Humanities class.  Kessiah worked on math.  I continued working with the boys and Sienna did a final draft of  a fable she wrote.  During this time, Corbin told me he was going to draw some people...I had never seen him draw people before!  Notice the blue crayon drawing...the one on the left is him...if you look closely you can see he drew his toes!  One of the other "people" is me and I'm not sure who the third one is!  The orange person is Mason's.

10:00 a.m.  Snack time.  Sienna finished her fable, I did some science with the boys (we were reading from Logan's workbook and answering some questions).  Jenessa continued with Humanities and then practiced the piano.  Kessiah finished her math.

11:00 a.m.  School is done for everyone!  Kessiah and Jenessa played on the piano with an app I recently downloaded.  Mason was listening to them.  Sienna and Logan were playing.  Corbin was doing his own thing.  I was getting work samples ready to send in to Sequoia and cleaning up from school.

11:15 a.m.  Frozen pizza in the oven for lunch.

12:00 p.m.  Left for the orthodontist

12:30 p.m.  Orthodontist appointments for Kessiah and Jenessa.  Kessiah needed some spacers put between some teeth in preparation for braces next week.  Jenessa needed a mold for a new retainer.

1:30 p.m.  Went to the library.  The kids checked out some new books and played on the computers.

3:00 p.m.  Arrived back home, had a snack and an hour of quiet time.  I spent my time doing some prep work for our homeschool group.

4:00 p.m.  Mommy reading time...we are currently reading a biography of Beatrix Potter.

4:30 p.m.  Kessiah and Jenessa went back to reading.  The youngest four played.  I finished printing Jenessa's Old Testament study guide.  Jenessa and I discussed the party that Jenessa is planning for Friday night with the other 11 year olds from her Primary class.  We made a phone call and I sent a text to help us get the plans solidified.  I did some more prep work for our homeschool group.  Corbin got upset at Mason and found some comfort with Jenessa...he fell asleep next to her while she was reading!

6:00 p.m.  I started dinner, we ate.  Tilapia or fish sticks and couscous....ummmm....should have had a vegetable!

6:50 p.m.  Took Kessiah to Mutual and went back home.  We did afternoon zones...they should have happened at 5:30...but they didn't! 

7:50 p.m. I went back to get Kessiah...they went 30 minutes over which got me home later than I would have liked!  Family prayer and got the boys to bed.  The girls helped me finish cleaning up the kitchen and then we tried to facetime Ryan who is in Phoenix...but he didn't answer (he was in the fitness center)  I went upstairs to have my good night talks with the girls.  Talked to Ryan on the phone.  Typed up this post and went to bed!

A Day in Our Life

This was really interesting for me to do...I kept track of what we did yesterday...with a few pictures along the way.  We are starting our summer schedule...which means I didn't go to gymnastics with the 4 youngest like I do during the normal school year.

Woke up at 6:00...Logan was up to greet me...blog, email.
6:45...exercise with a Fit2B routine...Mason and Corbin got up during this time and Ryan left for work..had to intervene in a little boy fight
7:15...got the boys some milk and went to get myself ready for the day...showered, dressed, made my bed, folded some clothes...Kessiah got up during this time and played with kittens...Logan did his morning zone and played with kittens...Mason and Corbin played with each other.
7:45...went outside to turn on the water for the tomatoes and corn, printed weekly routine sheets for the 4 oldest kids and hung them up (after spending 10 minutes trying to find the tape!)...Sienna got up and played with kittens...I got kids moving on their AM responsibilities and breakfast...cleaned up a cup of spilled milk, sat down and cuddled with Corbin who wanted a Mommy Hug, Logan joined us, got up to put away a dog leash that Corbin started to hit me with, cleaned up kitchen island, told kids to put kittens away
8:30...morning devotional (after I get Corbin and Mason settled down from fighting over a toy...why do they always want the same thing!)...told kids they cannot hold kitten until their morning things are done... helped Sienna with math, cleaned up the front and back entry ways and downstairs hallway, dumped a bag of flour into a bucket, encouraged the boys (several times) to clean their room and assisted a couple of times, discussed summer goals with Jenessa, got Corbin dressed






10:00...snack time (although Logan and Mason didn't get a snack until 10:30 because it took them that long to clean their room and get dressed!), I did some decluttering in the office, decided what we were having for dinner and watered the rest of the garden, Kessiah and Jenessa finished their summer school work,  Logan and Mason did some PE games on the Wii (Corbin fell asleep on the couch while watching them), Logan did his morning zone and garden job, Kessiah went to play with Kurt's kittens, I printed a weekly routine sheet for Mason who decided he needed one, helped Logan and Mason do a couple of worksheets.  Sienna settled down with a book.  I even had a few minutes to sit down and read a conference talk from the Ensign.

12:20...Ryan came home for lunch...we ate and started quiet reading time.  Logan and Mason had a very hard time being quiet today!  Corbin informed me that he was stinky...so I had to stop and change him and discovered that he had leaked onto the carpet so I had to stop and get out the Little Green Cleaning Machine and shampoo the spot up!
2:00...Mommy Reading Time...we are reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...I couldn't read as much as we would have liked because of a scratchy throat.  Kessiah and Jenessa worked on their coloring pages.
 2:30...Girls took the dogs on a walk, I continued organizing the office (we still have a couple of boxes that haven't been upacked!) and got dinner in the crockpot.  The girls and I watched the latest Granite Flats episode while the boys watched Wild Kratts on PBS.  We all did afternoon zones and got ready for the piano recital.
6:00...Jenessa and Sienna had a piano recital (which Mason and Corbin had quite a bit of trouble sitting still for), girls and Logan went with Ryan to Walmart to buy kitty litter and box, I came home with Corbin and Mason...got them dinner.
7:45...Ryan got home with kids, got kittens situated, ate dinner, got boys ready for bed, family prayer, Jenessa read 3 books to the boys since my throat was still scratchy, boys in bed...the rest of us watched Studio C and then we called it a night!
